After the Edinburgh Castle.....

After about two hours, Bill and I move on. Down the Royal mile we walk when we see The Scotch Whiskey Exhibit. The exhibit was full and we would have to come later if we wanted the tour. The place is suppose to house over 3500 bottles of Scotch more then anywhere the world. However, we noticed the gift shop was open where they sold many small tasteless bottles the Scotch. I mentioned to Bill we should stop in and he ahold pick up a tastle bottle for the road. He liked that idea and after talking with the salesmen we decided on a 33 year old Scotch that the small bottle cost about $20. That translates in a large bottle being around $200. We found out you can make reservations online for the tour and do it Saturday.

Walking downhill from the castle, we realized we needed some nourishment for the rest of the walk. We park ourselves in a place called Deacon Broadie. A man who was a gentlemen by day burglar, gambler by night. He was tried and hung across the street from where we ate and seeing how his lousy lentil soup I was in agreement with their decision.

Deacon Broodie as he looked I am assuming before he was hung.

Back on the stroll we come to St. Giles Cathedral. Now I have visited many of the famous Cathedrals and their interiors for the most of them are dark, the stained glass windows high up. However, St Giles whose stained glass is not original was bathe in light, it's stained glass seemingly accessible and easy to view and appreciate. Bill and I LOVED IT!
Hope you enjoy it as much as we did for it is forever imprinted in my mind.

We were on a high from the cathedral...so one again, we walked and walked to the end of the Royal Mile visiting the new parliament building. It is controversial in that many people complained it is too modern looking and the cost.
After the visit, we scrolled back up to sit and eat at The World's End Pub. I am getting tired so
off " to sleep, per chance to dream". Shakespeare
