On our way up the coast to the town of Thurso where will take the ferry to Orkney, I notice out of the corner of eye the tops of a ruined church. As you know when you drive things flash by so quickly, I said to Bill should we stop and give it a look see? Bill mentioned that we go forward and get where we are going. Ok, I keep driving forward. Luckily there was a small traffic tie up, I turned to Bill and say... the game's afoot, Watson, this way.... I just have to see what it is...
Cast your eyes on what we serendipitously found and healed my soul.....and aching body as well...

The stumps you see to your right are the remains of the stone pillars that held up the Cathedral. This the first time, I ever examined how the inside of these massive columns were designed and put together. Bill being an architect, was very impressed.

This is what you can find when there is no rush to arrive anywhere and follow your instincts.

A happy Bill concurs. The stone makers on the floor behind him are tombs.

The stone markers on the ground are tombs
